Lost in Travels - Bye bye Tokyo

Here we go… Time to leave and hit the road again, after 2 fantastic years in Tokyo.

What happened? Life happened. Sometimes work plans change unexpectingly. And that’s fine. We were then at a crossroad about what to do next. We always had the desire to do a round the world trip together, and I was not keen in going through a job search straight away. So no brainer: let’s do what we love and let’s pack our bags!

Our life is also packed in 182 boxes, stored in Tokyo, until we decide of a final destination. It has been an interesting time to pack! We kondo-maried everything, and even had to go a step beyond. Does this dress spark joy? Ohhh yes it does! Will it spark joy when you will have to carry it everywhere to wear it only handful of times? Mmmmm… Ok it goes in storage. Now that does not spark any joy to have left it behind!! Mmmmm…

Obviously this discussion has happened for way more than just a dress.

Despite the exciting journey ahead of us, the last few days in Tokyo have been very sad. We said good bye to our friends and colleagues, handed over the keys of our beloved apartment, and spend the last couple of days looking for the last minute items that we will be needing in the coming months.

Bye bye Tokyo, it’s been a pleasure to get to know you. You are an amazing place to live and we hope to be resident again one day.

Waiting for this time to come, wish you all the best and see you again in October for the Rugby World Cup!
